A Private Château in Provence: Valentine and Simon's Wedding

On September 5, 2026, French couple Valentine and Simon returned from New York to celebrate their wedding at Château de Boulbon, where the timeless character of a Provençal estate met the understated sophistication of New York style.

There is a particular kind of elegance in knowing when to let a place speak for itself. For Valentine and Simon, a young French couple living in New York, Château de Boulbon offered just that: a historic and exceptionally private setting in Provence, where the architecture and atmosphere would become the centrepiece of their wedding day.

Rather than relying on elaborate floral installations, Valentine envisioned a reception defined by restraint and sophistication, inspired by the polished elegance of New York entertaining. The château itself would provide the setting, allowing its character and architectural beauty to take precedence over decoration. The result was a vision of understated luxury, where every choice was guided by the desire to preserve the spirit of the place.

From a village church to a private château

The celebrations began at Église Saint-Joseph in Boulbon, where Valentine and Simon exchanged their vows in a religious ceremony. Afterwards, guests made their way on foot through the village and up to the château, making the journey itself part of the experience.

This walk offered a more intimate and unhurried transition from the ceremony to the reception, bringing family and friends together as they arrived at the estate.

A vision of understated French luxury

The reception reflected the bride's preference for a chic, polished aesthetic with a distinctly New York sensibility. The men wore tuxedos, reinforcing the formal character of the occasion, while the decision to leave the tables free of floral arrangements allowed the château to remain the defining visual element.

Rather than competing with the architecture, the celebration was conceived around it. The emphasis was on elegance, atmosphere and the natural grandeur of the setting.

The beauty of Château de Boulbon

With its distinctive character and private atmosphere, Château de Boulbon provided an exceptional setting for Valentine and Simon's celebration. The estate's architectural presence offered a natural backdrop for a wedding centred on timeless elegance rather than excess.

The couple's vision allowed the venue to take centre stage, creating a refined balance between the historic surroundings and the polished aesthetic of a modern destination wedding.

A celebration brought together by a dedicated team

The wedding was planned by FV Wedding Events, whose work brought the couple's vision to life within the distinctive setting of the château.

Photography and film by Lara & Valentin documented the celebration, from the religious ceremony in Boulbon to the walk up to the estate and the reception that followed.

For Valentine and Simon, the day brought together their French roots, their life in New York and a shared vision of timeless elegance. In Provence, they created a celebration that allowed the setting to speak for itself, proving that sometimes the most memorable statement is made not by adding more, but by knowing what to leave out.
